About Us
Welcome to IcedUp!
At IcedUp, we believe every piece of jewelry carries a story without breaking the bank. Our mission stems from our love for Moissanite jewelry and the need for high quality without the high price tag. We noticed a gap in the market where other sellers compromise on materials and craftsmanship. Our commitment is to offer only the finest quality Moissanite jewelry at affordable prices, bridging this gap for our customers.
IcedUp vs. Competitors
Most other sellers use cheap materials such as lower clarity and colored stones, cheap single gold plating, and cheap filler metals such as brass, aluminum, or copper. Now, if you do happen to find high-quality Moissanite jewelry, it's most likely for an outrageous amount of money. This is the gap we hope to fill here at IcedUp by using solid 925 Sterling Silver pieces, 18k White Gold Vermeil, and VVS D+ colorless Moissanite stones. This gives a heavy and quality feel, but for a fraction of similar competitors. We've also put our jewelry through months of rigorous tests with our jewelry still shining with the same brilliance at the end as it did in the beginning. Our competitors jewelry not so much.
What is Moissanite?
Moissanite is the next best thing to Diamonds. It tests positive with most diamond testers so you never have to worry about people trying to call you out for wearing fakes! Its brilliance and fire are similar to that of diamonds, but Moissanite has different optical properties. This makes it sparkle with a better brilliance than Diamonds. It's also harder than many gemstones, ranking 9.25 on the Mohs scale, just below diamonds. This makes Moissanite highly resistant to scratching, chipping, and breaking, making it an excellent choice for everyday wear in jewelry. Additionally, Moissanite is more affordable than diamonds, making it a popular alternative for those seeking the look of a diamond without the high cost. With all of this in mind, why spend 10 to 20 times the cost for Diamonds when Moissanite is basically the same thing!
What is Gold Vermeil?
Gold vermeil is created through a process called electrolysis, where a layer of gold is electroplated onto a sterling silver base. The thickness of the gold plating distinguishes vermeil from regular gold-plated jewelry. Our vermeil pieces have a thick layer of at least 2.5 microns of gold, compared to standard gold-plated jewelry, which is usually only .5 microns thick. The sterling silver base also provides a solid foundation for the gold layer, offering durability and strength to the piece. This combination of metals results in jewelry that has the luxurious appearance of solid gold but is more affordable than traditional solid gold pieces.
